MekaMon: Next Level Battle

Reach Robotics wanted us to create a commercial which showed off their incredible cutting edge fighting robots. The only catch was that the robots were in prototype phase and couldn’t show off their full abilities. Drawing inspiration from Nosferatu, we used shadows and silhouettes to circumvent the robots’ technical drawbacks. No film about advanced robots would be complete without a generous dollop of explosions, tracer fire and plasma cannons: the CGI team blew the doors off the hinges, channelling influences from the likes of Halo, Star Wars and Transformers.
